What makes Wings Aerospace Academy different?

WAA focuses on preparing students for experiences and careers in Aerospace by providing hands-on training, mentoring experiences centered around aviation and space.

Is there tuition?

No.

Who is the principal?

The Director of Education for Wings Over the Rockies Air & Space Museum acts as Headmaster for WAA.

What is the difference between online classes and homeschooling?

Online classes are centered on an experienced and certified teacher in charge of each student’s learning, amplified and enhanced by technology. Homeschooling places sole responsibility for learning on the student’s parent.

How long are the days?

6 hours, 8:30-2:30

Are after-program classes offered?

WAA will offer after program (and sometimes evening) classes to support student growth and learning.

Is there a dress code?

WAA students wear a simple uniform composed of a Wings Aerospace Academy shirt and navy slacks (or skirt).

Is there a lunch program?

Students will be required to bring a sack lunch, at least for the first year of operation. Snacks and hot (or cold) refreshments are available within the Wings Over The Rockies Air & Space Museum grounds.

Will there be a bus?

There will no buses, at least for the first school year. WAA leadership will review this policy as required.

Is there a sibling policy?

There will be a sibling policy.

When is the first day of class?

August 24, but you can continue to enroll until September 30th.

When is the last day of class?

May 27th.
